WITH THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE

He’s GREEN! He’s CLEAN! He’s LEAN & MEAN! (Okay, maybe not that last part.) But he’s YOUR Lake Elsinore Storm’s Big Green Dog, Thunder! Now, we all know Thunder is a hooligan on the field, but what about OFF the field?

Away from The Diamond, the lovable green dog, is the most popular mascot in all the land; marking his territory at elementary schools with his Reading for Rewards program assemblies, wreaking havoc at Little League opening ceremonies and even going to birthday parties hosted by other mascots. We don’t know how to put this, but he’s kind of a big dog.

He’ll show you his famous belly bump, share some high fives (but watch out for his mischievous antics as you must remember he still acts like a puppy!) and he loves to take pictures with his adoring human fans. No dog embraces the spotlight quite like Thunder.

Don’t think for one second Thunder is all trouble, though. Remember, 2018 was the Year of the Dog (in Chinese culture) and Thunder orchestrated a Year of the Dog Food Drive benefiting Animal Friends of the Valley! Donated pet food was exchanged for a Thunder prize pack that included a Storm dog bowl, a pair of Opening Night tickets, a Thunder baseball card signed by the dog himself and much more.

Now gearing up for his 19th season at The Diamond, you already know Thunder’s going to follow up the Year of the Dog with never-before-seen antics and chew toys in route to giving the Storm fan base yet another Mascot of the Year performance. He’ll once again have the assistance of his buddy, Jackpot, the Score-Keeping Rabbit who’s got all the hip happening dance moves. In fact, you can catch the pink rabbit struttin’ his stuff in front of the giant right field wall every time the Storm safely cross home plate. Thunder’s little brother, Mini-Thunder, will be right by his side as well!

FUN FACT:  Thunder and Mini-Thunder crashed the party at the 2019 Mascot Hall of Fame Grand Opening in Whiting, Indiana! Thunder and his lil green sidekick had the chance to wreak havoc and cause mischief outside of Lake Elsinore. As a matter of fact, they even pulled off a prank on Mayor Joe, the Mayor of the small Indiana town of Whiting (Thunder delivering the Mayor a hot dog followed by Mini silly stringing his dome!).

There’s much more where that came from, as the three best friends that anyone could have are still clowning (and sniffing) around the ballpark hoping to make new friends and meet new dog walkers. Be sure to find Thunder at the next Storm home game you’re attending!

Like many of his furry friends, Thunder loves car rides. Be sure to book him for your own events or parties so he can stretch his legs away from the ballpark! He loves to be out in the community every chance he gets because even Thunder needs a break from chasing the stray cats out of The Diamond. The Big Green Dog is guaranteed to put a Thunder-sized smile on your face! After all, Thunder is Fan’s Best Friend.

Thunder’s busy schedule included just over 300 community appearances in 2017. You might have seen him wondering around your local park, as dogs love to do, or taking swings at the Little League fields. One lucky fan even got to take her furry green friend trick-or-treating around her neighborhood Halloween night!

The most followed mascot on social media, fans can stay up-to-date with his latest tricks, sloppy dog kisses and belly bumps on Facebook (ThunderBigGreenDog), Twitter (@ThunderTheDog) and Instagram (@biggreendog). To schedule an appearance, fans can call 951-245-HITS or email thunder@stormbaseball.
